Beeline loses inside lanes through Oct. 16, and Northlake narrows midday

A five-hour midday overlap on Beeline and Northlake, new courts for Life Time members, and two golf sessions at Sandhill Crane.

If Beeline or Northlake is part of your day, keep an eye on 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For those five hours, both roads are down a lane at the same time.

The big story

If you drive east on Northlake and turn right onto Beeline, that turn lane is closed today, and so is an outside lane, while FDOT does maintenance. That work runs 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

By then Beeline Highway is already short a lane. Starting at 4 a.m., FDOT's Beeline rebuild takes one inside lane each way between Florida's Turnpike and Jog Road, and it reopens at 5 p.m. That means both roads are short a lane from late morning to midafternoon.

The Beeline work continues after today. From Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Oct. 16, an inside lane each way is scheduled to close between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., so drivers out before 7 a.m. still have every lane. The notice for those days says only "along Beeline," with no end points.

Turnpike drivers get squeezed overnight on those same three days. Southbound at the Beeline overpass, one inside lane is set to close 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Around town

Life Time opens a pickleball building and CTR studio in Downtown Palm Beach Gardens

The new pickleball building covers 20,500 square feet, and its courts are built for leagues, open play, tournaments and events. Members also get lounge space, a retail wall with athletic gear, plus a grab-and-go cooler. The club already offers lessons, leagues, mixers and junior pickleball programs.

Inside the main 136,000-square-foot club, a CTR studio with 24 reformers is open now and running 45 classes a week. CTR is Life Time's reformer workout, which blends Pilates-style moves with athletic conditioning.

Strength and cardio regulars will have to wait a little longer. An extra 5,600-plus square feet of exercise floor is due later this fall, and the third-floor workout area will reach 31,000 square feet. "Our members have shown tremendous enthusiasm for pickleball," said Susan Mistri, who leads the club.

This expansion is for club members, not new public space. The release lists no prices and says nothing about access for non-members.
