County commissioners deny a proposed Jupiter Farms private school
Palm Beach County commissioners denied without prejudice Calvary Church's proposal for a K-12 private Christian school in Jupiter Farms. The plan called for nearly 1,000 students on a vacant Indiantown Road site, and the debate before commissioners turned on traffic, growth, and the rural character of the area. The county zoning board had unanimously recommended denial ahead of the vote. A Jupiter beach dance group pauses for sea-turtle nesting season
Happy Beach Dancing has paused its weekly activities at Jupiter's Beach Access 55 until further notice during peak sea-turtle nesting season, and the group is looking for a new location. Neighbors told WPTV the gatherings sometimes drew as many as 300 people with music and lights. Loggerhead Marinelife Center said movement, light, and noise can disrupt nesting, which is the conflict at the center of the pause. Jupiter Medical Center breaks ground on an Avenir hospital
Jupiter Medical Center broke ground June 24 on a new hospital in Avenir, off Northlake Boulevard in western Palm Beach Gardens. The building is expected to open in early 2028 with 29 inpatient beds, four operating rooms, and 24-hour emergency services. WPTV reported the hospital is intended to serve about 40,000 nearby residents, a figure that reflects how much housing has gone up on that side of the city ahead of the institutions that support it. The market shares the North Military Trail address the city uses for municipal business, which makes it a familiar stop for most residents.
